Designed long before home electricity became commonplace, the heavy solid iron base core was heated directly atop a wood stove while the wooden grip handle remained safely detached and cool to the touch. Pressing the spring-loaded center wooden release button lifts the metal core latch mechanism, allowing the handle assembly to fully separate from the cast hood.

The double-pointed boat-shaped iron base showcases a heavily distressed, beautifully oxidized steel patina, paired with a hand-turned, naturally worn wooden handle core.
