Antique Chalkware Plaster Crucifix Wall Cross – Shabby Chic Devotional Art
Add depth and historic character to your collection with this striking, antique chalkware plaster crucifix. Intricately molded with classic European devotional styling, this wall cross features a detailed corpus of Jesus Christ beneath a traditional "INRI" plaque. The architectural, stone-like texture offers an authentic old-world presence that pairs beautifully with rustic, traditional, or Gothic aesthetic spaces.
Dating from the early-to-mid 20th century, this vintage piece has acquired a beautifully distressed appearance. It makes a powerful statement on a gallery wall, home altar, or prayer corner, appealing heavily to collectors of Catholic antiquities, architectural salvage, and rustic religious decor.
Condition Report (As-Is / Weathered Patina):
- Front Finish: Features a beautifully aged, textured finish with a light off-white tone, accented by subtle, authentic surface dust and localized handling wear.
- Structural Note (Repair/Reinforcement): The back reveals a clean fracture across the central vertical beam that has been historically re-bonded and reinforced. An exposed internal wire or support structural element shows minor rust oxidation. The cross holds together solidly but should be handled with care.
Approximate Dimensions:
- Height: ~10 to 12 inches
