Bless and Drake Industrial Trivet

Before self-heating electric irons existed, homemakers heated heavy solid steel "sad irons" over roaring coal stoves. This ornamental iron rest was cast by the historic foundry Bless & Drake in Newark, New Jersey. Engineered to isolate immense heat, its intricate geometric lattice work protected fragile work tables from being scorched or burned.

Exceptionally well-preserved. The delicate cast openwork is structurally complete with absolutely zero cracks, breaks, or missing lattice segments. Retains an authentic, dark oxidized patina with subtle surface texture that highlights its genuine century-old manufacturing process.
