W.I. Tenney was an American silversmith active in the 1830s and 1840s. He crafted silver pieces that often featured various monograms. The piece includes a New York anchor stamp, which represents stability. There is also a bust mark on the side that imitates the English bust hallmark. Additionally, the star was used as a third mark by American silversmiths. These marks indicate the piece’s American origin and show the influence of English hallmarking traditions.
